Week 6: Love in Action
Scripture Reading: Matthew 25:35–40; Psalm 126:5–6 NLT
Matthew 25:35–40 NLT
"'For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’"
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?"
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!"
Psalm 126:5–6 NLT
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.
Devotional Reading:
Jesus made it clear: when you feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, and care for the sick—you do it for Him. That’s the heart of Serve Week. It’s not just about good deeds—it’s about Jesus-centered compassion lived out loud.
This week, you’ve planted seeds of kindness, sown in tears, labored in faith. And Psalm 126 promises—those who sow in tears will reap in joy. Maybe you felt stretched or surprised. Maybe you saw someone smile who hadn’t in a long time. Maybe you witnessed how one small act made a big difference. Whether seen or unseen, these moments matter.
But the goal isn’t to stop when Serve Week ends. It’s to keep living this way. Keep looking for the harvest. Keep loving your neighbor. Because every meal shared, every lawn mowed, every conversation had—it echoes into eternity.
Closing Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for what You’ve done this week. I give You the glory for every moment of impact. Help me carry this heart into every week—loving my neighbor as You loved me. Amen.
Serve Week Challenge:
Celebrate what God did this week! Write down a testimony of something you witnessed or experienced. Then, commit to one ongoing way you will continue to love your neighbor.
Reflection Questions:
What was your most meaningful moment from Serve Week?
How did you see God at work in small or unexpected ways?
What have you learned about yourself and your capacity to serve?
