Week 4: Walk the Walk
Scripture Reading: Luke 10:2; Galatians 6:9 NLT
Luke 10:2 NLT
These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields."
Galatians 6:9 NLT
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Devotional Reading:
We often think of evangelism as a moment of bold speech—but Scripture challenges us to start with how we live. In Luke 10:2, Jesus once again speaks of the harvest, urging His followers to pray for laborers. But what kind of laborers? Those who walk the walk. Those whose daily lives reflect the truth and love of the gospel.
Paul echoes this in Galatians 6:9, urging us not to grow weary in doing good. Why? Because the harvest is tied to our perseverance. It’s easy to lose heart when we don’t see immediate results. But a life of consistent love—faithfully showing up, doing the right thing, serving when no one is watching—that’s what tills the soil of someone’s heart.
People are watching. Your consistency in kindness, your patience under pressure, your humble attitude at work—these are sermons in motion. Living out the gospel may speak louder than any words you ever say.
Closing Prayer:
Lord, help me walk the walk. Let my actions reflect Your love. Give me endurance when I’m tired, joy when I serve, and peace that draws others to You. Amen.
Serve Week Challenge:
Choose a consistent act of service you can sustain for 7 days—such as picking up trash, encouraging a coworker each day, or volunteering at a community outreach event.
Reflection Questions:
Where are you tempted to give up doing good?
Who might be watching your life right now for evidence of Christ?
What does it mean to be a faithful laborer in your current season?
How can you build habits that support a lifestyle of love?
What part of your walk speaks loudest to your community?
