The Way of the Kingdom

Message Summary:

In today’s message in our series, Kingdom Economics, Pastor Lee Wilson taught us about the way of the Kingdom of God. We live in a world that is quickly drifting away from the standards of God and His Kingdom. But Jesus told us that the Kingdom of God should be the model for all believers. The Kingdom of God should be first in our lives. And if we live according to the standards of the Kingdom life, we will experience the promises of God. This means we need to understand the principles of Kingdom Living, Kingdom Living, and Kingdom Giving. Living in the kingdom blessing is a choice of mind over matter. In God’s eyes, Kingdom is just another word for “family.” And God designed His family to be blessed.

This is one of the greatest benefits of being a family member in the kingdom of God. But our enemy does not want us to experience the blessing that is unlocked with this revelation. So, he will work overtime to attack our minds with toxic thoughts and ideas. He knows if he can control our thought life, he can control and dominate our entire life. But when we truly understand that we are children of God, citizens of Heaven, that understanding changes the way that we think, and as a byproduct, the way that we live. This is why we have to make the kingdom way a priority in our lives. What separates those who walk in the KINGDOM WAY from those who don’t is the way they choose to think. When we are family members, we have the right to be blessed. We have generational equity passed down to us through the family of God. Because we are adopted as children of God, because we belong to him, we are now blessed with every spiritual blessing.

Scriptures:

  • [Philippians 3:20 NLT] But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

  • [Galatians 3:26-29 NKJV] 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

  • [Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV] 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

Discussion Questions:

  1. What is the “kingdom of God,” and what does it mean to us as believers

  2. Why is important to think of ourselves as family members?

  3. What are the benefits of being a family member?

  4. What does it mean to be “blessed with every spiritual blessing”?

  5. Why do you need to know that you are called to be blessed?

Life Application:

Over the next week, as you study the key scriptures, ask yourself: Are you living each day out of your identity as a family member in the kingdom of God? If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are a child of God. The way of His kingdom is BLESSING. You called to be blessed. So, when you encounter difficult circumstances, remind (speak to) your circumstances who you are. You are a child of God, and ALL THINGS need to work together for your good and your blessing! It is your right!
