Day Two: Perfectly Blessed
Read
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, which gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
— Eph. 1:3-8 NLT
Devotional
Being perfectly saved, we are also perfectly blessed. That is part of the covenant agreement that we now have in Christ Jesus. When we were saved, our new relationship with God came with a promise of provision. And God is a "man" of his word. He will hold up his end of the covenant.
But now, whether we experience the fullness of that blessing or not is up to us. We must choose to live out of the reality of those promised blessings. We can never decide to entertain a poverty mentality again. Not when the word promises that in Jesus, we have every spiritual gift we need. All we need for life and godliness belongs to us already. Those blessings also include the wisdom and understanding we desperately need to live a more fulfilling life.
But it is our choice to experience those blessings. We must learn how to live daily in anticipation of God's goodness toward us. Because our sins are forgiven, nothing is holding us back from grasping these blessings… Nothing, except us. Only we can hold ourselves back. So, choose today to experience the fullness of God's perfect blessings stored up for you. After all, they are yours by right!
Prayer
Father, thank you for blessing me with every spiritual blessing. Show me how to live out a higher revelation of my covenant with you. I know now that everything I need for life and godliness, you have already provided for me through salvation. I want to experience the fullness of all the blessings you have made available to me. Help me to live every day in anticipation of your goodness toward me. I thank you in advance for showering me with your blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
